Girls Night Out

Hey there Cuties,
So, the other night C and I decided we were in great need of a girl's night out.  It started out as a nice low key night at our favorite wine bar in Brooklyn.  We met at the bar and ordered one, two, maybe three glasses of a not so yummy wine recommended by our waitress.  We also munched on the bars famous croutons (which are actually just little chopped up pieces of garlic bread yummm.)
C waiting patiently for her wine
bag o' croutons and glass o' wine = yay
Next stop...Sushi and Sapporos.  The restaurant was playing depressing love songs so, we decided it'd be best to order the big Sapporos.  Duh.

Luckily, do to my extreme photography skills, you can see how things started to look afffter we consumed our size large Saproros:)

This is where the photos of our girls night out end.  However, the fun didn't end here.  We continued on to our favorite whiskey bar where we engaged in some competitive shuffle board and danced to some 80s classics.  There's nothing like grooving to "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis to get ya in the mood for Valentine's Day.  Eventually we made it home...girls night out accomplished.

Be in touch soon.

Dead Owls

Sooo....
This week has been a little weird.  February started out with my mister putting in some major hours at work.  Fine, we can deal with this.  But then.... I got put on a few new projects at work too and now I'm logging some serious after hours as well. Let me tell you kids, there's nothing sadder than dragging yourself home from work at 10 PM only to discover that there is nobody home to feel sorry for you because your mister is working until midnight!  Poor me. It's a regular pity party up in here.
Well, there is one sadder thing.  Our little weekend leak has since turned into a big problem and smells of toxic fumes.  When I do get home, I am relegated to the bedroom and the bedroom DVR for fear of dying from noxious mold poison if I spend too many minutes in our wall-less living room.  The only thing to watch on the bedroom DVR is Teen Mom and American Idol (Teen Mom, yay!  Love ya, Kieffer! American Idol, boo! So over you! Except for you J Lo, you're prettier than ever!)  Me, Kieffer, some Ellios, and a glass of wine makes for one sad not so bad hour to myself before bedtime.
My friend Karen gifted us with the cutest little pair of owls for our wedding (they live on top of the better-program-options-but-works-like-shit DVR in the living room.)  Well, yesterday I came home from work and, well, I don't know how else to say it, but it appears our little owls were overcome by the wall fumes.  What does this mean?
Hoping mister doesn't have to work Saturday so we can keep our Atlantic City plans for the weekend, and head to where the air is clean and smells only of sweet booze and cigarettes.

C
Before...cute owls.  Mr. and Mrs. C&E.
Toxic wall invasion.  Jealous of my phat digs?  I thought so.
And after. :( No joke, this is what they looked like when I walked in.

Superbowl

Hey Cuties,
Lyss and I had a pretty fun weekend.  We went out for a sister night on the town on Saturday night (yes, it was a mess that ended with a late night pop chip and ice cream binge) and Sunday we went out to NJ to spend Superbowl Sunday with our friends Mike and Alison and their two super cute kids.  We were all a little bummed about the Jets, but good food and friends helped to ease the pain.

Monday, on the other hand, was a pretty harsh crash back into reality.  My mister and I have both been working a lot lately, and I feel like I barely see him!  Plus, what started out as a little drip in our apartment has turned into a full-fledged tearing down of walls and ceiling construction project, with no end in sight.  We are even contemplating moving into a hotel for the week, but the idea of packing up all our stuff and trekking back into the city after a long day of work is oh so not appealing.  Guess it's just one of those weeks...

Check out some pics from Superbowl Sunday below...

We finally brought the kids their Christmas presents.  Well, the scotch was for Mike.  His birthday was Saturday.

We bought the kids a toy sushi set, because, well, who doesn't want that?  Lyss showed them how it's done.

I watched, because playing's not my thang.

Doll was chilling in the sushi box for a little while.

Alison gifted us with some cool gloves, but Alyssa took the gray pair which were the ones I wanted.  No fair.

That's my mister.  He was hoping to have his face be a big mystery on this blog, as a cute gimmick.  Too bad nothing is original in the blogosphere, mister!  Love your face.

These Cute Boots...Home Bound

So, last weekend I traveled home to PA to see the rents, enjoy some rest and relaxation, eat, drink and shop.  A weekend away from the city does a girl good.  First things first, I hit up the thrift store.  I always love the thrill of a good find. Especially one that costs me $2.00.  Check out some of the goods I came back with...
Black and Cream Short-sleeved Sweater
Nautical Sweater
Cute Heather Sweatshirt
Ditsy Spring Crop Top
Sheer Navy and White Striped Sweater
Black and White Gingham Dress Shirt
In addition to clothes, I thought I'd get some things to decorate my apartment.  I picked up some old frames to paint and some crocheted flowers for a splash of color.
Sooo cute!

painted and sanded for a rustic feel
Alright Cuties, that's it for now!  Back to crafting away on this rainy day!  Hope tomorrow brings sunshine...ooo and heat...and summer...and maybe some tropical cocktails.  :)

P.S. Cutie Step-Mom Mags wanted to show of her new tennis bracelet!  Gotta love her!

Rainy Saturday

There's nothing better than enjoying a little indoor rain shower from the comfort of your own couch.  Today, I woke up to discover a rather substantial amount of water dripping in from the top of my windowpane.  At least I have a pretty green vase to catch the drops.  And also two ugly buckets that my landlord loaned me. Apparently, one may or may not have contained citric acid at one point.  Hope indoor rain isn't in the forecast for much longer.

Have a Love Filled Weekend

Cute barrette

Hi My Cute Reader(s),
What are you doing this weekend?  Lyss and I have both had particularly stressful weeks and I can't remember the last time I felt so excited for a couple of days at home catching up on my to-do list.  I'm longing for some Valentine's Day pick-me-ups.  Maybe I'm just missing my mister because he has been working NON -STOP, but I could use a little love in my life in the form of accessories!
<3 you,

Pocono Escape

Hey Cuties,
This past weekend, a friend from work was kind enough to host a few of us in her gorgeous house in the Poconos.  It really made me want a house in the Poconos too (surprise)! Having just gotten married there over the summer, I thought I had a pretty good idea of all the Poconos had to offer, but somehow in our wedding planning trips, we managed to miss a lot of the beauty of the actual mountain.  Unfortunately, the mister had to work the whole weekend so he's still missing out on the beauty (luckily he has me).  We arrived late on Friday night and the view of the snow covered mountain, lit up with ski trails, was serene and beautiful (no pictures, don't worry, why would I take pictures?).   And we hit up the cutest, quaintest little restaurants and shops the whole weekend long.  I can't wait to go back with my mister to show him all my new finds.  I am so happy that we will always have this place to return to when we want to remember one of the happiest days of our lives.  Check out the pics below.

Bye, NYC!  You suck!  And your snow is dirty!

We stopped at Friendly's on the way and I got a sundae :)

Then we stopped at Shop Rite and Sean got his favorite mac n' cheese topping that he puts on EVERYTHING.  Since they don't sell it in NYC, he bought every single one!
Snowy and beautiful.  This is what clean snow looks like.
How cute is this house?
And how cute are these guys?
We ate a lot of ziti!
And we saw deer!  In the backyard!
Apparently, Alyssa went shopping this weekend and bought lots of new clothes.  But I scored a dope red Adidas watch at the PA outlets and it was on sale!

we heart warm and sunny days....

Lyss and I both had pretty eventful weekends that we can't wait to share with you, but tonight we are feeling a little tired, and maybe just a little sick of dirty snow.  Here's to summer!

Have a Cute Weekend!

Alyssa and I are both PA bound this weekend.  She'll be making a trip home to hit up the original casa de cutie and I'll be heading out to the Poconos to spend a relaxing weekend with friends.  This is my first trip out to the Poconos since my wedding so I'm sure it will bring back some fun memories.  Too bad my mister has to stay in the city to work!

May we all be on our best behavior!

Snow/Work Day

Hey Cuties!
Lots of snow in Brooklyn today but that doesn't stop the subway.
